NEXTGEN PASTOR

Nic Goodin

Nic Goodin believes that one of God's greatest gifts to him was the provision of a group of faithful Christian friends who boldly presented the Gospel to him as a preteen/teenager. God used their boldness to make an eternal difference in his life, as Nic received salvation and became a Christ follower at the age of 16. Two years later, he expressed a call to ministry, and spent his time at SBU preparing for his first ministry assignment: ministering to teenagers and their families at Hamlin Baptist Church in Springfield.

Since coming to Ridgecrest in October of 2015, Nic has had many opportunities to learn from great mentors and grow in the areas of preaching, discipleship, shepherding, and leadership. His years at Ridgecrest have also allowed him the chance to grow academically. In 2020, he earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and will graduate with a Masters of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May. Nic is excited about the opportunity to continue serving at Ridgecrest in a new capacity, as he and the NextGen Team believe the power of God in the next generation is limitless!

He and Lauren shared many bus rides to and from school in their junior high days, but didn't have a meaningful conversation or fall in love until their college years. They were married in June of 2013, and together they have a son, Grayson (7), a daughter, Peyton (2), and a dog named Dan.

Nic enjoys playing golf, running, and sometimes combining the two in an obscure sport called speedgolf. He also enjoys traveling with Lauren, playing the guitar, and obsessively rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs.
