DISCIPLESHIP

Small Groups are open groups that vary in size. They are mostly coed and based around a person’s stage of life. Most meet at Ridgecrest on Sunday morning, but some meet at other locations at different times throughout the week. Most of these groups follow a published curriculum, or lessons developed by the group leader. The primary purpose for these groups is spiritual community, which is about connecting with people to grow in Christ together. Group activities include Bible study, prayer, fellowship, serving others, and mutual care.

Life Groups are closed groups of 3-5 people, and each group is gender-specific. These groups meet at varying times and locations determined by the group and their leader. They are based around daily Bible reading, weekly journaling, and discussion, mutual prayer, and accountability. The primary purpose of these groups is accountability and encouragement for growth in spiritual disciplines and a daily abiding relationship with Christ. These groups ideally remain the same size for a year, then each participant is encouraged to facilitate a new group, replicating the process. LIFE-ON-LIFE DISCIPLESHIP

Life-on-Life Discipleship involves one-on-one accountability, Bible study, and prayer. This method of discipleship can serve the purpose of mutual, long-term edification, but temporary or seasonal needs, such as grief or a specific life struggle, may also be met. To inquire about life-on-life discipleship, please contact our Discipleship Pastor, Wayne Barron.
