This is a great week to welcome in our new 7th Graders! Here is a breakdown of what the week will look like:
Monday: Pool Party & cook out just for 7th graders and their families. We will be at Shayla Hale's home. While the students are swimming, the student ministry staff will meet with parents to introduce them to our student ministry. Parents, please come!
Tuesday: Parking Lot Party & Parent Powwow at 6:30 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. All students (new 7th graders and all current students) are invited. The students will have food, games, & music out in the parking lot. Parents, please come because you will have the opportunity to see all of the major events we have planned for the next year (including camp and mission trips.) You will also get first "dibs" on sponsors for those events!
Wednesday: Midweek for all students (new 7th graders and all current students) and parents! Parents, please come because we want you to see and experience Midweek. We will kick-off a new series called "More than Milk" studying spiritual disciplines. There will be several baptisms during the service and we also have an ice cream party after to celebrate those baptisms!
Thursday - Friday: Canoe Trip for all students (new 7th graders and all current students) and parents are invited as well. We will drive to River Front Campground on the Niangua River Thursday afternoon. We will camp Thursday night, canoe Friday, and come home Saturday morning. The river is safe and simple to canoe. The campground is quality as well. The cost for the canoe trip will be $50 per person (including adults) with a $25 deposit due July 27th. This covers transportation, meals, camping, canoeing, and flip flops (instead of a t-shirt!) We need adults to come and we need tents, if you can help in this way please let us know. You can register and pay your deposit online here. We will meet at RBC at 2:00 pm on the 7th and should be back by 11:00 am on the 9th.
This MUST be Notarized. Kate Ford, our student ministry associate can notarize for you, but she MUST witness your parents signing the form. You can also take it to your bank to be notarized, whichever is most convenient for your family.
